SOPHIM makes the acquisition of an oleochemical factory in Spain.
Sophim, the European leader in the manufacture of natural squalane, announces the acquisition of a factory in Andalucía, South of Spain. This plant can process additional olive oil fatty acids and make large pre-concentration of squalene, a bio-functional ingredient, precursor of cholesterol and cell regeneration of the skin.
This acquisition will allow a significant increase in the production capacity for Olive Squalane (Phytosqualan®) and Olive Oil Unsaponifiables (Insapolive®) that are manufactured by Sophim France in Peyruis, Provence. It will guarantee the security of supply and the stability of prices for the worldwide squalane market on long-term basis. With this acquisition Sophim intends to reinforce its leading position in the field of vegetable squalane, a key ingredient for the Personal Care industry.
